What Can I Expect?

Insurance Information

Need more information? Read below!

Q: DOES DR. MORRISON ACCEPT INSURANCE?

A: We do not accept medical or vision insurance as payment for eye exam services or contact lenses.

Designing the highest quality specialty lenses takes time and resources. Most medical and vision plans do not allow enough "reimbursement" for these types of services. Or, if the reimbursement is too small, it restricts the Doctor to the types of lenses they are able to use.

By not contracting directly with insurance plans, we are able to use the highest quality machines, materials, coatings, and time with our patients to provide the best results.

Q:  CAN I STILL USE MY INSURANCE BENEFITS?

A: Most times, yes! Vision and medical insurances generally have out of network (OON) benefits.

When you choose to use a Doctor who does not accept your insurance, you are going "out of network". Most plans typically have benefits for both "in network" and "out of network".

The difference is that the out of network reimbursements are generally (but not always) lower than in-network. Dr. Morrison was conscious of choosing pricing of all exams and lenses that are fair to both her AND her patients.

Vision Insurance: After your appointment, if requested, we will provide you with a "1500 Form". You may send this form to your insurance company. If benefits are available, you will communicate directly with your plan and reimbursements will be sent directly to you.

Medical Insurance: After your appointment, if requested, we will provide you with a "1500 Form". You may send this form to your insurance company. If benefits are available, you will communicate directly with your plan and reimbursements will be sent directly to you.

Q: HOW DO I FIND OUT WHAT MY OUT OF NETWORK BENEFITS ARE?

A: The best thing to do is to call your insurance company and ask!

Q: OKAY, I WANT TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FOR PAYMENT ON MY FIRST VISIT?

A: We take payment of cash, credit card, HSA/FSA cards, or check on the day of your appointment for services performed on that day.

If you are coming in for a Specialty Contact Lens Consultation (scleral lenses, prosthetic lenses, hybrid lenses, etc), you will pay $250 for the consultation on the day of. This includes all imaging, discussion with the Doctor, and recommendations to help you see your best.

If you decide to move ahead with ordering lenses and going through the fitting process, this $250 goes TOWARDS the cost of your professional fees (cost of the Doctor's time) and cost of the lens(es).

Q: DO YOU HAVE ANY FINANCING OPTIONS FOR HIGHER PRICED LENSES?

A: Yes!

We accept Care Credit, which is a no-interest credit card. You can apply easily for the card online and pay your balance on our Portal. Our Care Credit plans offer 6-month or 12-month no-interest financing options.

Once the balance is paid, we will order lenses for you and get started!

Care Credit is safe to use and takes a fee from our office to allow our patients to utilize it. This is how Care Credit allows you to not be charged interest to use this card. We like this to be highly transparent for our patients.

You can also set up an In-House Financing Plan with our office. We will not order any contact lenses or start the fitting process until 75% of the total balance has been received. Lenses may be taken home after 100% of the balance is received!
